Torrevieja is conveniently located roughly 40 minutes from Alicante airport. Alicante airport serves the whole of the Costa Blanca. You can hop on a flight from Alicante to the UK, on budget-friendly airlines, year round. If you would rather be without a car in Spain, there is a bus that can take you from Alicante airport to your property in Torrevieja.


Torrevieja enjoys agreeable weather all year. Swimming weather for local people lasts from May through to October, but those of us used to chilly northern waters, this far south in the Mediterranean will be fine all year, with water temperatures in the twenties. August is the hottest month with an average daily maximum of 30°C. January and February are the coldest months, but still much warmer than the UK, with an average daily maximum of 16°C.


Since Torrevieja is so popular with foreign buyers, expect to be welcomed with open arms by the expat community. If that’s your thing you’ll find friends to help you navigate life in Spain, to watch the football with and places to eat a British fry-up. If you want to avoid all that, the ‘real Spain’ is on the doorstep.

If you are planning to move to Spain as a family, Torrevieja would be an excellent choice as there are multiple international schools in Alicante.  

 

Even being so popular there are plenty of affordable housing options in Torrevieja. On a small budget, it is not hard to find a property for sale in Torrevieja close to shops, restaurants, and the beach.


There is a great diversity in the types of property for sale in Torrevieja. You can find a property for sale in Torrevieja for as little as €55,000 – even a modern studio near the beach. For the same price, you could buy an older one-bedroom townhouse or bungalow, often located in a residential area, a little further from the beach, but benefitting from the quiet.


A budget of €200,000 will buy a modern two-bedroom apartment, possibly in a residential complex with a communal swimming pool and gym. Alternatively, with the same budget, you will be able to find old-fashioned multi-bedroom homes, slightly further inland. A house for sale in Torrevieja with a private pool, a garden, and a barbeque area will cost you at least €300,000. Torrevieja also has a splendid choice of luxury villas boasting of sleek and modern design, private swimming pool, saunas, and home cinemas.
