Attica is a peninsula, surrounded by the Aegean Sea on three sides. It is home to Greece’s largest city and its capital, Athens, and its surrounding neighbourhoods. The birthplace of democracy, Attica has a legacy that obviously permeates across the world today. Here, you’ll find one of the world’s most legendary sites, the Acropolis, which includes the Parthenon. From November, temperatures cool, with highs of 18 degrees; average rainfall increases to 75mm and sunshine decreases to just five hours a day. January is the coldest of all with highs of just 13 degrees.

It is made up vintage and second-hand shops, bars serving budget-friendly drinks, a lively farmers’ market and the National Archaeological Museum. The streets are also vibrantly covered in graffiti and street art.
The unofficial capital of the Athens Rivera, Glyfada is a glitzy neighbourhood. It is home to several sandy beaches; Metaxa Street, a long, open-air shopping strip; and an 18-hole open-air golf course. If you are seeking a property on the beach, then Voula has a similar vibe.
Psirri has had a transformation in recent years but retains an old-fashioned village feel. Here, you’ll find lovely old Greek taverns, galleries and a host of artisan shops.
