Ayia Napa is a resort town in the Famagusta district, located on the southeast coast of Cyprus. It is a 45-minute drive away from the city of Larnaca, and a little over an hour’s drive from the capital city of Nicosia. The nearest airport to Ayia Napa is Larnaca International, with a choice of public transport to get you there.
Once uninhabited woodlands, Ayia Napa has come to cultivate a reputation as one the major party hubbubs in the Mediterranean. If you want to dance the night away, head to the Central Party District where you can find an impressive choice of sports bars, restaurants, and live bands at venues like the Square Bar. Plus, for the most celebrated beach parties, head to the pristine white sands of Nissi Beach. It buzzes with DJs, and sun-kissed holidaymakers and locals.
Although Ayia Napa knows how to party, it has a softer side too. Nissi, and 13 other beaches have been awarded a Blue Flag, recognising that they meet a high standard of cleanliness and safety. Five kilometres from the centre of Ayia Napa, Makronissos Beach has a family-friendly atmosphere and a host of water sports, such as diving, water skiing and parascending to enjoy. Additionally, Ayia Napa is home to the Cape Greco National Forest Park, an ideal hiking and cycling location, which offers stunning views of the Mediterranean from the tops of cliffs. On your journey, you can see the white-washed old church of Agoi Anargyroi or the birthplace of Aphrodite. Ayia Napa also boasts of one of the largest cactus parks in all of Europe, which opened in 2015 and is home to over 6000 plants.

Ayia Napa has a Mediterranean climate and enjoys hot, dry summers and mild, short winters. You should be able to go for a swim in the sea between May and November, as the temperature is 24°C. The hottest month is July with highs of 32°C and next to no rain. The coldest month is January with highs of 15°C and averages three days of rain.
