Albir, the seaside resort of Alfas del Pi municipality, is part of Spain’s lusted after Costa Blanca. You may not have heard of Albir, but you will have heard of her noisier sister, Benidorm. Just 15 minutes from Benidorm by car, Albir has modern purpose-built resorts too, but on a much smaller scale. Furthermore, the city of Altea is less than 15 minutes in the other direction, so any property for sale in Albir is brilliantly connected. Life in Albir prioritises relaxation with its broad, tree-lined streets, impeccably clean beaches, and orange groves.  

Every year, Alfas del Pi hosts an International Film Festival in the summer. To commemorate the event, Albir has its own marble promenade of Hollywood stars. Even when it’s not populated by Spain’s famous and glamorous, Albir’s beaches are still impressive. Albir Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness, accessibility, and beauty, ever since the award was created over 30 years ago. Only six other beaches in Spain have this same unbroken record. 

Albir Beach is made up of white rounded stones that contrast stunningly with the turquoise of the water. So, if an idyllic beach is at the top of your list for purchasing a property in Spain, then a villa in Albir will suit you wonderfully. Additionally, Albir has its own dog-friendly campsite with a pool, surrounded by orange groves. If you have kids, this might be a great option for a night away from home. When your loved ones come to see you, they could stay inexpensively at the campsite. Albir is separated from Benidorm by Sierra Helada Natural Park of 5,600 hectares, which encompasses the 439-metre mountain range of the same name, it is an excellent destination for walkers and cyclists alike.  

Albir is served by Alicante airport, which has flights to and from the UK all-year-round. Albir is approximately 45 minutes away from Alicante airport by car. But there are also great options for buses and taxis to the airport, so if you don’t want to have a car in Albir, that’s perfectly doable.  

From April to October, Albir experiences temperatures in the low to mid-20s. The warmest month is August, which has an average daily maximum of 31°C. The coldest month is January, but then even, the average daily maximum is 16°C – very pleasant compared to the UK’s harsher winters.  

The starting price for a lovely one-to-two-bedroom apartment, or even a small bungalow, in the heart of Albir is €150,000. For this price, you can except features such as access to a communal pool, a modern kitchen, a terrace, and nearness to shops. For a family villa of four bedrooms or more, a budget of €300,000 will find you lots of options, including villas for sale with a private pool. Often, such villas will be located in a residential area, ideal for raising a family. These prices are quite typical of the Costa Blanca as a whole.
