Torrox is a beautiful, quiet, white-washed village about four kilometres inland from the Mediterranean coast, in the popular region of the Costa del Sol (but just on the border of the Costa Tropical).

Torrox boasts 9km of coast which feature sandy beaches, coves and scenic landscapes. The area is known for the relaxed and laidback lifestyle that habitants enjoy. Torrox has a bit of everything. It has a village mentality but is close to the beaches and all amenities should you want to venture out.

Torrox is split between Torrox Costa (by the sea) and Torrox Pueblo (inland) which offer varying experiences. Torrox Costa is more accommodating to tourists, as it’s a popular hotspot for visitors during the summer months, whereas Torrox Pueblo is an old town further inland. Torrox Pueblo clings to the hills under the Sierra de Almijara Mountain range and has an authentic Spanish feel.

Weather in Torrox is serene, with the mildest summers on the Costa del Sol and mild winters. Due to the mountains surrounding Torrox, the town is protected from the winds. Blue skies are the norm and frost almost non-existent.

Torrox is a typical village and is normally quite quiet, but there is lots to do in the area. The climate is perfect for those who enjoy the outdoors. Popular activities in Torrox include golf, tennis, windsurfing, mountain biking, fishing and a multitude of water sports.

There are several golf courses less than 10km from Torrox and there are walking groups that you can join throughout the year. 

The coast of Torrox is abundant with places to eat and drink. There are lots of Spanish eateries, but a local favourite is the grilled sardines in any of the chiringuitos along the beachfront.

The variety of houses for sale in Torrox is mainly limited to apartments and villas. One of the most popular areas is the Complejo Laguna Beach in Torrox Costa. Torrox is typically one of the most affordable areas in the Costa del Sol as its less commercialised and much of the area is untouched by new developments that aim to attract tourists.
