The main rivers that cross the municipality are the River Douro to the south-east, the River Sabor to the west, the River Maçãs and the River Angueira to the north-east. The Bus Terminal (Central de Camionagem) is located in the town centre, making it a good alternative for getting to this town in the interior of Trás-os-Montes.
