SOUTELO: Soutelo is the seat of a parish in the Municipality of Mogadouro and District of Bragança. Its patron saint is Santa Engrácia. It is located on a hillside that rises from the River Sabor to the Mirandês Plateau, 8 km N.N.D. from the county seat. It used to have olive oil mills, of which only one remains.

It benefited from the Manueline charter granted to Bemposta on 04/05/1512, so it already existed on that date. It was a curato of the presentation of the Marquis of Távora, and later passed to the Crown (Mesa da Consciência, according to the Parish Statistics of 1862). Festivals and pilgrimages: Santa Engrácia (last Sunday in July) and Santo Nome de Jesus (3rd Sunday in January).

Heritage: Mother Church, Chapel of the Holy Trinity, Cross, Fountain, medieval bridge and river beach, 18th century chafurgo fountain. Associations: Cultural and Recreational Association of Soutelo Address: Cultural and Recreational Association of Soutelo Handicrafts: Lace, linen weaving, regional embroidery, tapestry and footwear.

Gastronomy: Shells and Rosquilhas. Relief Landscape in the Parish: Soutelo's landscape, made up essentially of olive and almond trees, is covered in flowers in early spring and on its steep slopes that lead down to the various olive groves that descend to the Sabor Lakes, cistus and broom grow, making this parish very attractive from February until the end of May.

This building, located at Rua do Pereiro, 112 in Soutelo, in the municipality of Mogadouro, has two floors: on the ground floor is a garage and storage room, and on the first floor is a house with a kitchen, living room, 1 bathroom and 3 bedrooms. The patio is 1120m2 with a wall all round. #ref: 126865

The exchange rate on the day you make an offer on your property in Portugal will not be the same as the rate you pay when you complete on your purchase, as currency markets move constantly. Any large rate movements may take it beyond your price range as the chart above illustrates the fluctuation and how much extra your property could have cost you.

The best way to avoid this significant risk is to plan your budget and currency strategy with an experienced currency specialist. They have been known to save you up to 4% compared to many high street banks, £4,000 for every £100,000, which soon adds up. They will also keep you up to date on market movements, help you set a rate in advance with a product called a Forward Contract - so you know exactly what you will pay for your property in sterling.

This is why we recommend Smart Currency Exchange Ltd. If exchange rate movements continue to be as unpredictable and as significant as they have been in the past then by not using Smart Currency Exchange Ltd your property could cost you £2,958 more.
