Our Lady of Amparo is the Patroness of the Algarve. Every year the feast is held in honor of the patron saint on the last weekend of July. The tradition of the feast of the Holy Spirit and of the Pilgrimages is still maintained. It has been promoted, in this Parish, a Festival of Philharmonic Bands, where they have the presence of the Bands of the Municipality and Guest Bands.

It has usually been held in late September. This parish is next to Pico da Vara, the highest point of the island of São Miguel, with about 1105 meters. It has two beautiful viewpoints, the Despe-te Que Suas Viewpoint and the Vigia das Baleias Viewpoint, where you can observe and see part of the north coast of São Miguel Island.
