Description

"Sweet my words in the evening you are like the burning rain tepid and fugitive, spring's tearful farewell, on the mulberries and on the elms and on the vines and on the pines with new rosy fingers who play with the lost aura, and on the wheat that is not yet blond and it's not green and on the hay that already suffered the sickle and transcolor, and on the olive trees, on the olive brothers that make the slopes pale with sanctity and smiling" Gabriele D'Annunzio In this spring that doesn't take off, we walk slowly on the Santa Margherita farm.

The warm sun in the sky, the clouds that embrace the nearby hills and the bright green of the grass observe my dreamy gait. In this which was one of the residences of the Habsburg-Lorraine you can feel the peace that reigned during summer stays in Tuscany. Behind us are the stables, the rhythm of the entrance arches recalls the pawing of intrepid stallions ready to leave for the hunt or a trip to nearby Florence.

Upon returning from trips we stopped in front of the main entrance where the servants rushed to welcome the cheerful and noisy companies returning from their outings, and while rich hot or cold dishes arrived from the tireless kitchens to satiate their appetites, on the upper floors the rooms welcomed the tired limbs.

The pigeon house remains a reminder of the ancient habit of cooking succulent birds, but I prefer to think of a solitary descendant dedicated to romantic correspondence through this obsolete means. During the walk around the farm I discover its ancient history, made up of nobility, tales and legends, it is said that more than one descendant of the noble house has stayed within these walls and like us has admired from the first floor windows the slow rhythm of the alternation of Florentine hills.

Now it's your turn to write a new chapter, bring laughter, sounds and scents back to life within these walls. Remodel the three floors of this noble building to once again host people who have come from all over. Revive the stables of new projects. Cultivate new or ancient species in the over 3 and a half hectares of ancient vineyard. The Santa Margherita farm is dozing waiting to return to its former glory.

The exchange rate on the day you make an offer on your property in Italy will not be the same as the rate you pay when you complete on your purchase, as currency markets move constantly. Any large rate movements may take it beyond your price range as the chart above illustrates the fluctuation and how much extra your property could have cost you.

The best way to avoid this significant risk is to plan your budget and currency strategy with an experienced currency specialist. They have been known to save you up to 4% compared to many high street banks, £4,000 for every £100,000, which soon adds up. They will also keep you up to date on market movements, help you set a rate in advance with a product called a Forward Contract - so you know exactly what you will pay for your property in sterling.

This is why we recommend Smart Currency Exchange Ltd. If exchange rate movements continue to be as unpredictable and as significant as they have been in the past then by not using Smart Currency Exchange Ltd your property could cost you £28,453 more.
