You can buy fresh eggs and chickens from the locals and there is a caf /restaurant in Vetriano, about 1km away. The bustling village of Diecimo (10 minutes drive) has a good variety of shops (including 3 grocers, bakery, flower shop, hardware shop) and restaurants as well as a small railway station on the main Pisa/Lucca to Aulla line. The easy drive to the beach (Viareggio) is 50 minutes and the excellent ski resort of Abetone is just over an hour away. Pisa airport is 1 hour away. 2
