Summers are warm and dry. Temperatures are known to reach 35°C but in recent years have soared to 40°C. November is the wettest month, but rainfall is usually limited to the mountains and surrounding areas.
Pescara is a modern city on the Adriatic coast of Italy. Spoltore is a charming hilltop village that has panoramic views across Pescara valley. It’s a lively place to live and hosts regular events for its 18,000 residents. If you’d prefer to be among the greenery that Abruzzo is so famous for, discover Loreto Aprutino, a quiet village nestled between the coast and the Gran Sasso. It looks over a sea of olive groves and is known as the ‘City of Oil’. Properties vary in price from €55,000 for a fixer-upper to €825,000 for a large farmhouse with its own onsite vineyards.
