In Spain, you don’t need an eye-wateringly large budget to purchase a truly fabulous home. From doer-uppers to rural retreats to apartments right by the sea, browse through ten splendid properties, all priced under €220,000.
In our Reader Survey 2024, most of our respondents shared that they were after a home for under €300,000. How much you can get for your budget will depend on where you are looking to buy. For example, in the highly desired Golden Mile of the Costa del Sol, €300,000 is the starting price for an apartment. But there are plenty of spots along Spain’s glittering coastline where you can get a marvellous, spacious home for much less than €300,000. Generally speaking, your budget will go even further inland. It is mostly a case of knowing where to look, and in certain cases, having the imagination to see the potential of a property that just needs a little love to look its best.
Starting with a €219,000 like-new two-bedroom apartment and ending on a cheap cortijo, we’ve hand-selected properties from our property portal to demonstrate what you can purchase for well under €300,000.

A budget of under €100,000
In Spain, it is perfectly possible to find a home for €100,000. If you are interested in building a home totally from scratch, we have many land plots listed for sale on our portal. However, if you’d rather have a property to start with, there are lots of rural properties to renovate. If this does interest you, then inland Andalucía is a great place to look. Here, you’ll find the beautiful bones of a property, often in scenic locations, that have plenty of potential. One thing to bear in mind with renovation projections is that the cost of renovating can add and add up, turning what initially seemed like a cheap purchase into a costly enterprise. The more you can do yourself, the lower the cost.
If you’d rather steer clear of renovation projects, you will be able to find village homes and small apartments for under €100,000, even in sought-after locations like the Costa Blanca.
